[Tales of Karksi launched in Warsaw]

Jewish Telegraphic AgencyThe Polish Resistance hero who was the first person to bring eyewitness information about the Holocaust to the West has had his account of his experience published in Poland. A Polish edition of Jan Karski‘s “Story of a Secret State” was launched late last month with a high-profile ceremony in Warsaw. Detailing the story of Poland’s underground anti-Nazi Resistance movement, the book became an international best seller. Poland’s postwar government, however, barred its publication because it did not fit the Communist version of history.
