The world- famous Institut für Zeitgeschichte in Munich, Germany, grants access to David Irving’s unique collection of Nazi records and interviews deposited there 1964-1990.

• Hellmuth Auerbach of Institut für Zeitgeschichte Judenreferat writes secretly to Munich public prosecutor about David Irving, Sep 4, 1990 (discovery of this letter’s existence led to the breach between Mr Irving and the Institute).
• David Irving donates rare RSHA records on Rudolf Hess to Institut für Zeitgeschichte
• List of research microfilms commissioned by David Irving
• Researcher Christopher Straatmann asks for assistance in accessing part of Irving collection
• Late in 1977 the Institut für Zeitgeschichte director Prof Dr Martin Broszat published a virulent 37-page attack on David Irving’s biography, Hitler’s War, in their quarterly journal (pdf, in German); they refused to publish a reply
