The Austrian Ambassador in London assures the Board of Deputies that a Warrant is out for the Writer’s Arrest

Dear Mr. Nagler,

Following my letter of 11th June I have now received information from the Austrian Ministry of the Interior regarding David Irving.

According to this information, the warrant for Mr. Irving’s arrest issued on 8th November 1989 by the Criminal Court Vienna continues to be valid.Since the issue of that warrant, and in particular on Sunday, 12th May 1992, no stay of David Irving in Austria was recorded by the Austrian security authorities.[¹]

1. It is not known why the Austrian Ambassador felt it necessary to lie to the Board. Mr Irving legally visited Austria on May 12, 1992, and July 1, 1993, to interview the former mistress of Dr Goebbels, Lida Baarova. See the photograph of the latter interview in Austria, printed in Goebbels. Mastermind of the Third Reich. and in the leading Finnish weekly newspaper Helsingin Sanomat whose journalists accompanied him. His passport was on both occasions checked thoroughly by Austrian border police.
