I refer to your application for a Short Stay (Visitor) (Class TR) visa lodged at the Australian High Commission in London on 5 November 1997.

Your application and all supporting documentation were considered against the legal requirements for entry to Australia.

The Migration Act 1958 (the Act) provides me with the discretion to refuse to grant a visa where, upon an examination of a person’s conduct. I am satisfied that he or she is not of good character pursuant to s. 501 of the Act.

I am satisfied that you are not a person of good character. Accordingly under s. 501 of the Act I have decided to refuse to grant you a visa.
