The Berghof copy of Mein Kampf

bound in leather, weighing 18.5 kilos (forty pounds); the arm is included for size comparison. Among documents on the provenance is a postcard (printed in Denmark) has a postwar English handwritten inscription, “This copy of Mein Kampf was Adolf Hitler’s personal property and was in the Berghof, Obersalzberg. Berghof stamp, 3rd page on the top. 11.11.91.” “Confirmed by Herrn u Frau Mittlestrasser, Hitlers Hauskeeper”. Wilhelm Mitlstrasser and his wife salvaged many personal items of Adolf Hitler and Eva Braun from the Berghof a few days after it was bombed in April 1945, when looting by local citizens began.
