ON TRACK FOR REVISIONIST CONFERENCE IN SACRAMENTO

News from the Institute for Historical Review

Thursday, April 22, 2004

Everything is on track for a successful revisionist conference in Sacramento, California, on Saturday, April 24. This one-day event was quickly organized by the IHR following the sudden cancellation on Monday of the much-publicized two-day International Revisionist Conference. The Saturday conference is set to begin at noon, and will end at 9:30 p.m., with a break for dinner. Persons wishing to attend should meet on Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. at the “redirect point” in central Sacramento, from where they will be directed to the actual conference site. The meeting point is the Vagabond Inn, Midtown, at 1319 – 30th Street (N and 30th streets).

Persons who registered for the cancelled two-day conference will be admitted for free, upon presentation of their ticket. For others, registration fee is $10. Meals are the responsibility of the individual attendees, although arrangements are being made to provide some food at the meeting hall. Speakers will include:

  • Mark Weber, director of the IHR
  • Paul Fromm, director of the Canadian Association for Free Expression
  • Edgar Steele, attorney (Idaho)
  • Lady Michelle Renouf (England)
Harvey Taylor will serve as Master of Ceremonies. Suitable attire, please. (No T-shirts) For assistance, call these contact telephone numbers: 530 – 656 2444 818 – 378 0699 For further information, see the special conference website Or contact the IHR office: Tel. 949 – 631 1490. ihr@ihr.org

On Monday, April 19, the Sacramento Turnverein, a German-American cultural center, cancelled its contract to host the two-day International Revisionist Conference. Walter Mueller, conference organizer, then issued a statement: “With great outrage do I have to tell you that the conference has been cancelled. The Sacramento Turnverein caved in to the massive pressure of the Jewish community and cancelled our facility.” The Jewish Defense League sent out a statement boasting of its role: “…We had been diligently working behind the scenes to facilitate just such an event [that is, the cancellation]. Today has been a very good day for the Jewish Community of Sacramento… and for the Jewish Defense League who can add another battle star to our banner.” The Saturday conference is dedicated to freedom for Ernst Zundel, who has been held for more than a year in a Canadian prison as a political prisoner.
