Judges clash on jailing of war criminal

THE Lord Chief Justice has clashed with the trial judge in the case of Nazi war criminal Anthony Sawoniuk, over whether he should serve out his life behind bars.
Sawoniuk, 78, was given two life sentences in April this year after being convicted at the Old Bailey of murdering Jews in Nazi-occupied Belarus, in eastern Europe. […]
